Baochun Li received his B.Engr. degree from the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, China, in 1995 and his M.S. and PhD degrees from the Department of Computer Science, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Urbana, in 1997 and 2000. Since 2000, he has been with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto, where he is currently a Professor.

Dr. Li has co-authored more than 300 research papers, with a total of over 15000 citations, an H-index of 73 and an i10-index of 220, according to Google Scholar Citations. He is a member of ACM and a Fellow of IEEE.

Daisy Cai is a General Partner at B Capital investing across the US and Asia. At B Capital, she has invested in and serves on the board of companies such as Reflection AI, EvenUp Law, Apptronik, Writer.ai, Profound Bio (acquired by Genmab in 2024), GeekPlus (IPOed in July 2025), Kaon (FlowGPT), Tacta System, Insilico medicine, RONA Therapeutics, and GRIT biotechnology etc.

Daisy has nearly two decades of investment experience. She was formerly a Partner at Softbank Vision Fund. She also held investing roles at Goldman Sachs and TA Associates. She started her career as a chip architect designer at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in Silicon Valley.

Dr. Morteza Alipour is a Senior Data Scientist at Citi, specializing in data cleaning, temporal graph data management, knowledge base integration, entity resolution, and fact verification over knowledge graphs using machine learning. At Citi, he has developed a deep learning-powered content recommendation engine and architected a conversational AI system that dynamically generates a usage tracking dashboard for Citi Velocity.

Morteza holds a PhD from McMaster University, where his research focused on advanced data cleaning techniques for large-scale, evolving knowledge graphs. His work explored temporal graph consistency, entity linking, and the integration of heterogeneous knowledge sources to enhance data reliability and trustworthiness in automated decision-making systems.

Lucas Qu is a Senior Software Engineer at the forefront of distributed systems and cloud computing. Currently serving as a technical leader at Amazon Ads, he architects and implements large-scale serverless applications that handle business-critical workloads. While driving innovation in his role at Amazon, he also serves as Chief Technology Officer of a startup, Sparklease Inc., demonstrating his ability to balance enterprise-scale challenges with entrepreneurial leadership.

 

Lucas has established himself as an authority in backend development, with particular expertise in AWS cloud services and distributed systems architecture. His technical leadership extends beyond implementation, having mentored numerous engineers and led high-performing teams across multiple organizations.
